Big Day
Apparently, today was the day that I Appeared Pregnant to the World.
It's probably because it was warmer, and I was wearing a coat appropriate for the warmer weather which I could not button over my bulging belly, so it was clear to all daycare and school workers that I have a bun in the oven, so to speak. Clients I saw today also commented freely, asking when I was due and so on. So clearly I have crossed the line where I could just be "carrying some extra weight" in to the territory where I am "carrying some extra weight, in the form of a baby."
I read in The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy (which may or may not be a reliable source, I grant you) that pregnancy models are generally only 5 1/2 or 6 months pregnant in those pictures. Coincidentally, that is exactly how pregnant I am right now. It's a funny little stage to be at, because people are simultaneously noticing that I'm pregnant for the first time, but also can't believe I'm going to get much bigger, since most of the images we see show women who are no bigger than I am right now. As anyone who has seen me at forty weeks pregnant knows, I'm getting a LOT bigger before this baby emerges.
