Neva has requested a new chart for the fridge. You may remember that we have used charts in the past to encourage such behaviours as toilet training, independent dressing, polite behaviour at school and others. Although she is not sure what this next chart is referring to, she has requested that at the end of this next chart, that she get to polish her fingernails and toenails (a recent bruise on the toenail inspired her to paint them again when she remarked that the bruise was "so beautiful" and she hoped it never went away).

Tonight, after returning from her first day of school, she reminded me that we had to make a chart for her. We promptly opened up a Google image search for "fingers toes" to try and find a suitable picture for the reward space at the end of the chart.

Here's the picture that caught her eye:

It comes from a 2004 USA Today article about a Caribbean man getting surgery to remove one extra finger and two extra toes. She ultimately settled on another picture.

It's too bad. Our fridge will only be grotesque on the inside...
